Flintlock Guns Mod adds 10 new weapons to Minecraft, among then pistols, revolvers, blunderbusses, hand-cannons and muskets.
The mod also adds 4 new kinds of ammunition, buckshot, cannonballs, round shot and pebbles, all having different behaviors and damage, the buckshot has an shotgun effect, while the cannonballs works like a ranged TNT, blowing up mobs and blocks alike. However, be careful when shooting the cannonballs, as they drop back down to the ground rather fast, so you might get caught in the blast.
It also stays true to the infamous long reload time of these weapons, as you have to reload a gun by crafting an unloaded gun or rifle with the appropriate ammunition and gunpowder, so this mod does not really make you overpowered in any way, unless you are very fast with the crafting.
The guns can also misfire, which means you lose the ammunition, and that you have to reload again. Guns can be repaired at anvils by using 1 iron ingot. Be warned, do not attempt to rename the guns.
Some weapons can be loaded several times in a row, such as the revolver, which makes it hold up to 6 bullets. This makes the revolver a bit more viable, as you don’t have to be vulnerable right after a shot.
You also have the ability to customize your guns. You can change their looks and improve them by adding inlays. To do this, you must craft your unloaded gun in the middle, and then use either diamonds, emeralds, gold ingots or obsidian blocks on all four sides of the gun to inlay the gun with what you chose.
These inlays give the gun a new look, but it also gives it new abilities. Diamonds increases the guns durability, emerald boosts its range, gold ingots will help prevent the gun from misfiring and obsidian will boost each of these three stats by a bit. This enables you to customize the guns to your liking, if you want to be more of a sniper you can improve the range, and if you want to make sure it fires when it’s supposed too, use gold.
