Are you ready to get puzzled? Do you enjoy Portal, or just puzzle solving games in general? Is mania a word you’re really fond of?
In that case, here is PUZZLEMANIA! A new map based based off an older Puzzlemania series, this map features brand new 1.8 exclusive stuff to make things even more interesting!
The story is that you wake up in a foreign test chamber, you don’t know how you got there or where you are, and suddenly you hear a mans voice. He is guiding you through the test chambers, each more devious and difficult as you go along. You are in the Kitatcho Laboratories, and you are a test subject. Enjoy your time, and try not to die!
If it wasn’t obvious already, the map and its story is heavily inspired by the very popular and fun Portal from Valve. That means that each chamber will present you with a puzzle you need to solve in order to progress through the map. There are 15 puzzles in total, but they shouldn’t be too challenging (according to the creator of the map), so most Minecraft players should be able to complete Puzzlemania.
The puzzles themselves are very varied, ranging from finding a slime ball to place on a pressure plate, to mazes, to jumping puzzles, and much more complicated stuff such as redstone and archery puzzles. There something for every puzzle lover out there! The chambers are well-made, and somewhat difficult, but not to any frustrating degree, and they should be doable enough if you just stop to think once in a while.
Portal references are also made, and the map also features secrets and achievements, for the completionists out there.
All in all, a pretty well-crafted and very fun map that requires some skill and thinking.
The Soartex Fanver Resource Pack works really well with this map, due to the modern laboratory look of the map, so it or any other modern pack is definitively recommended to make the map even more enjoyable.
How to install the Puzzlemania Map for Minecraft:
- Download the map.
- Go to your %appdata%/.minecraft folder.
- Open the “saves” folder.
- Unzip the map you downloaded, and put the unzipped folder into the saves folder.
- That’s it! Puzzlemania and its test chambers are now ready to be conquered by you, so have fun, and take care!
