A lot of people has been visiting our Minecraft crafting recipes list, looking for the crafting recipe on how to make a Saddle for the horses, in the new Minecraft update. Well, the Saddle is not on the list, and people keeps emailing me about it’s missing.
Well, it is actually not missing, it’s just not a crafting recipe at the moment (as of Minecraft 1.6.2). Saddles can only be acquired by finding one. They can be found in:
- Chests inside dungeons.
- Nether Fortresses (Minecraft 1.6).
- Desert/Jungle Temples (Minecraft 1.6).
- Blacksmith chests, found in NPC villages.
- Or by trading with a villager.
If you don´t know what a Saddle is, it is an item that can be placed on pigs or horses, which allow the player to ride them by right-clicking with the saddle.
Update 2015 (Minecraft 1.8.x):
Obtaining a saddle in Minecraft:
Natural generation
Saddles can be found in chests inside dungeons, mine shafts, desert temples, Nether fortresses, jungle temples and in blacksmith chests in villages.
Trading
Villager leather workers will sell saddles for 8-10 emeralds as a third tier trade.
Fishing
Saddles can be obtained as a “treasure” item from fishing.
There are certain plugins you can get for servers/single player though. ;) But he is right. I was surprised when I tried to craft a saddle I. A million different ways and it didnt work!
Yes but in the vanilla version it is not possible to craft it :-)
This was a very misleading title. The Hexxit modpack has a mod which allows multiple crafting recipes for saddles.
