A Five Nights at Freddy’s Map in Minecraft!
Yes, with the new 1.8 features such as armorstands, the popular new indie horror game Five Nights at Freddys have been recreated in Minecraft, complete with security cameras, security doors, light-switches, and of course, murderous animatronic animals!
If you are not familiar with the original game, then here is a bit of info about it:
In Five Nights at Freddy’s, you are put in the shoes of a security guard working at once-popular pizza and family fun restaurant Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. You have been hired for five nights, and your goal is to survive these five nights. Easy enough one might think, because what is the worst that can happen, right? Someone might break in, or some unruly kids will want to have some fun, maybe.
Not quite.
Because Freddy’s is a “special” place, and their animatronic animals are special, as they have shown to exhibit some… odd behavior at times. They tend to wander around at night, and if they catch you when they wander around, they will think you are a animatronic skeleton without its suit, and then put you in one, as being seen without a suit is “against the rules”. “Being put in a suit doesn’t sound so bad” you might think, but these suits are full of wiring and other stuff, and being put in one will kill you in a very slow and painful manner.
So that is a thing to avoid. That is not all though, because as things have been going bad for Freddy’s for a while, severe restrictions have been placed on the amount of power you are allowed to use each night, and using the cameras, security doors, and lights, all take a fair share of power. So your job is to decide when best to use these features, as having them all on all the time will quickly drain your power, leaving you at the mercy of these merciless animatronic animals.
The original game had a very interesting backstory and intriguing lore, but I’m not sure if that is included in this map, as I never even got past the first night. It does use resources from the game, such as sounds, so perhaps you will get to learn of the horrifying backstory of this place if you manage to progress through the nights.
This Five Nights at Freddy’s Map is very interesting as it plays very differently from most other maps. First of all, you can’t move. You are stuck in your chair, and from here you can control the security doors, lights to the halls outside the security office, and look at the cameras placed throughout the restaurant. This also amplifies the horror, as you can’t run, and you can only hide for as long as you have power to the doors.
Pro-tip if you want to survive longer: don’t have the cameras on all the time, peek at where the animatronics are, and only use the doors when they’re in the halls right outside the office.
It is a very scary map that captures the feeling of the original game as well as expected of Minecraft, it works well, and plays differently from anything you’ve tried before.
It only requires vanilla Minecraft to run (version 1.8 or later though).
The download includes a texture pack and it is heavily recommended that you also install this, as it really completes the experience. Another note is that this map includes jump-scares, so be warned.

How to install the Five Nights at Freddy’s Map for Minecraft:
- Download the map.
- Go to your %appdata%/.minecraft folder.
- Open the “saves” folder.
- Unzip the map you downloaded, and put the unzipped folder into the saves folder.
- All done! You are now ready to experience the frightening nights at Freddy’s, have fun, and try to survive!
