The first map in a series, the Five Stages Map opens up with you, the protagonist, stuck in a insane asylum. As shown in the prologue map, Grief, you saw something in your own home, something horrible and unbelievable, but no one believes you. No one, except the over 600 other people who happened to see something similar at the same time.

The occurrence have been dubbed “the Event” by locals, yet despite the overwhelming amount of people who experienced this phenomena, authorities and the doctors as the insane asylum have locked you and the others up, refusing to believe in such nonsense.

When you start off, an alarm is sounding, someone have broken out, and opened your cell on the way. You must now try to navigate the narrow halls and dark corridors of the asylum to escape, while also collecting journals in order to try to piece the story together. Something horrible have happened, your daughter is missing, you’re locked up in an asylum, but you’re determined to get to the bottom of this.

This is the first map in this horror series (excluding the prologue who was made after this), and it seeks to explore the depths of the human psyche. The main subject is grief (which is the same name as the prologue map), and the five stages of it (hence the name of this map). The first stage is this map, Denial, and the next, Anger, is already being worked on.

They’re short installments, so if you got an hour to kill, you can manage to go through an episode, or even the prologue and this if you’re fast.

It’s very interesting, and scary, although it does rely on jump-scares, so if you’re not a fan of that, take heed.

Important: this map is made with features from OptiFine in mind (specifically the fog), so for the best experience you should install that as well.

How to install the Five Stages Map for Minecraft:

  • Download the map.
  • Go to your %appdata%/.minecraft folder.
  • Open the “saves” folder.
  • Unzip the map you downloaded, and put the unzipped folder into the saves folder.
