LotsOMobs Mod adds, as the title of the mod suggest, a lot of new mobs to Minecraft, mostly animals from the real world, such as lions, elephants, deer, rhinoceroses, crocodiles, birds and more.
But that is not all, as this huge mod also adds new blocks, biomes, items and even new dimensions!
Many of the mobs added by this mod are found in the new biomes introduced, such as lions and elephants in the new savannah biome.
Important: this mod requires Minecraft Forge.
Many of the new items, or ingredients used for them, are found in the two new dimensions, the Dino Dimension and the Ice Age Dimension, each representing a prehistoric period in human history.
Here is a list of the features this mod currently adds to the game:
- 45+ new mobs
- A lot of matching blocks for the new dimensions
- A ton of new items
- Travel through time via dimensions to prehistoric ages!
- A whole heap of new sounds and small additions to make the game feel more alive!
The Dino Dimension is full of dinosaurs, so be very careful in this one, as you might end up as dinner for a hungry T-Rex, or a pack of raptors.
However, there are also peaceful creatures in this dimension, such as the mighty Brontosaurus, or the new cavemen, prehistoric humans living among the dinosaurs (not entirely historically accurate, but it is a game, so who cares). These cavemen are not hostile towards players, but can be killed anyways, as they might drop Dino Armor. You can also hunt dinosaurs on your own for their skin, in order to craft the new armor yourself.
This dimension is also full of huge trees, new blocks and more, and the stars are so close to Earth that they shine all day as well as all night! That’s not all this dimension has to offer, but I will leave it to you to experience the rest on your own.
The other new dimension, the Ice Age Dimension, features prehistoric creatures such as the giant mammoth and the deadly sabertooth tigers. This dimension have peaceful dwellers as well, the Eskimos, whose life primarily revolves around hunting whales and surviving in the harsh tundras.
This dimension is made up of huge mountains and deep oceans, oceans that has been frozen and as such have become snow plains instead.
Both dimensions features new mobs, ores, blocks, items and more, and remember! The portals is not like the nether portals, in this mod they only go one way, so remember to take materials to create a portal back with you when you visit the new dimensions, lest you will end up being stuck there.
If you do get stuck anyway, search for dungeons, as they will have the materials required to make a portal home.
The biomes introduced to the “normal” world are the Savannah, the Antarctica and the Arctic Ocean, here you will also find a lot of the new mobs and blocks.
It is a very cool and very expansive mod, and it fits right in with Minecraft, as a lot of the features doesn’t seem out of place at all. If you didn’t know any better, you might even think this was an official expansion!
