This Roman City map is a impressive piece of work that took about 5 months from start to finish. It is very detailed, and full of impressive roman buildings, as well as a huge Colosseum, Roman Baths, taverns, aqueducts, and many more impressive feats of roman engineering. It is available for you to explore, and if you wish, to make your base in survival, simply switch the game mode in-game to do so. The whole city is well-lit, so monsters shouldn’t spawn a lot inside the city walls.
As said, the city is detailed, and very much so. The Colosseum could be a whole map by itself, it is the largest structure dominating the map, and it has plenty of rooms and secrets to explore and discover, among that, the cells to keep the prisoners/gladiators below it, cells with various biomes to keep animals caged until their big fight, and many sprawling tunnels and sewers in which you can easily become lost.
The resource pack used in the screenshots is Romecraft GERMANIA, which fits extremely well with this map, and gives it that last touch it needs to really look and feel like a roman city.
The sewers themselves sprawl beneath the entire city, making sure all waste are gathered below the streets, rather than on them. There is also an aqueduct that brings water to and around the city, the aforementioned roman baths, several mansions and homes for the senators and elite of rome, and more. Every building is worth exploring, as they’re fully furnished, and some even contains secrets and other cool stuff as well.
There is also a bottomless pit near the Colosseum, and beware, because it is truly bottomless, taking you past the bedrock and into nothingness. Do not fall into it. Or do it, because it is kinda fun. But it is also your opportunity to reenact the classic scene from 300, be sure to scream “THIS IS SPARTA!” at the top of your lungs when doing so.
All in all, this is a very cool, well-crafted and impressive map, well worth the download if you like roman things, or just cool cities and builds. You are free to do whatever you wish with this city, be that simply exploring, building it further (maybe past the city walls, as there is not much outside), or razing the whole thing to the ground, the choice is yours.
